Ritz-Carlton Plans Another Two Iconic Hotels In China

Not a hotel company known to ever settle for "just enough," the Ritz-Carlton announced its plans for the development of two new Ritz-Carlton hotels in China.

Following on the heels of the hotel"s 75th hotel, the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong, which is currently the highest hotel in the world, these new hotels will be equally iconic in the cities of Wuhan and Dalian.

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C. is working with Shanghai Greenland Group, one of China’s premier property developers, for the development of the two new Ritz-Carlton hotels – The Ritz-Carlton, Wuhan and The Ritz-Carlton, Dalian.

Why are they iconic?

As if opening the highest hotel in the world wasn"t sizable enough, The Ritz-Carlton, Wuhan will be located at the top of the 606-meter-high Wuhan Greenland Center, while The Ritz-Carlton, Dalian will occupy floors 64-81 of the 518-meter-high Dalian Greenland Center. Both hotels will be the tallest buildings in each city when they open in 2017.

Here"s what we know of them so far:

The 330-room The Ritz-Carlton, Wuhan will be located in the center of the Wuchang Binjiang CBD. MICE facilities will include more than 2,500 square meters of meeting space, and there will be a heath club, pool and spa for leisure relaxation.

The hotel will also have a 170-seat three-meal restaurant and 150-seat Chinese restaurant which will feature 12 private dining rooms. The lobby lounge will host up to 70 guests and for those wanting unbeatable sights, there will be a 50-seat Ritz-Carlton Bar with views over the city.

In addition to these formal restaurants, there will also be food and beverage options on the 119th floor of the hotel -- the very top of the building, which is encased in a glass dome so you can dine in the sky at 545 meters (1,788 feet).

The Ritz-Carlton, Dalian, a 300-room hotel, will be located in the heart of Dalian’s Donggang CBD, and will form part of a mixed-use development featuring a vARIety of restaurants, bars and other facilities to guests.

The opening of these two hotels will see The Ritz-Carlton with 13 hotels in its total portfolio in China by 2017.
