The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Appoints New General Manager for Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai

　　The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announces the appointment of Freddy Farid as General Manager of the Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai. Freddy, an Irish national, is an accomplished hotelier with over 35 years experience in the industry.

　　Freddy got his first taste for the hospitality industry in 1977 when he gained work experience in the F&B department at the Nile Hilton, Egypt.

　　He graduated in 1981 with a B.A in Hotel Management from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management in Cairo. Post graduation Freddy worked for Hilton International for 18 years in various senior management positions throughout the Middle East including Egypt, Abu Dhabi and Bahrain as well as the US.

　　He then went onto hold General Management positions in several Rotana properties throughout the UAE before being promoted to Area Vice President for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. In 2008 he joined Layia Hospitality as Area Vice President and Managing Partner, his most recent position prior to joining The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

　　"Freddy will bring a wealth of experience to his role as GM at the Radisson Royal Hotel; his experience spans all elements of the hospitality industry from Sales and Marketing to Management, Development and F&B. His experience is invaluable as we continue to grow the presence of this flagship property not only in the Middle East but globally," said Mark Willis, Area Vice President Middle East and Sub Saharan Africa.

　　In his role as GM at the Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai, Freddy will oversee the development of the hotel, its team of 500 staff and its growth and presence in the market place.
