Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley has appointed a new general manager, David Bark. Effective today, David will oversee the hotel’s operations, leveraging his strengths and expertise in conferences and events.

Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley has appointed a new general manager, David Bark. Effective today, David will oversee the hotel’s operations, leveraging his strengths and expertise in conferences and events.
Prior to joining the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley team, David was general manager of Crowne Plaza Terrigal, where he oversaw the large-scale $13 million renovation of the hotel including a full room refurbishment, a forecourt renovation and an upgrade of Florida Beach Bar.
Congratulating David on his appointment, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) chief operating officer Australasia, Bruce McKenzie said, “David’s management of Crowne Plaza Terrigal’s multi-million dollar renovations are testament of his strong leadership. I am confident David will add significant value in his new role and I look forward to following his future successes.”
David commenced his career in hotel operations as a trainee manager with IHG in January 1987. Throughout his career, David has worked across multiple regions including China, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.
In 2010 Crowne Plaza Terrigal was awarded the Australian Hotelier’s Association Deluxe Hotel of the Year, a highlight of David’s career.
David is also a previous general manager of Holiday Inn Adelaide, Crowne Plaza Parramatta and Crowne Plaza Zhangjiang.
David has a Diploma in Hotel and Catering Administration and Hotel/Motel Administration/Management from the Central Institute of Technology. David is also treasurer of Hunter Valley Wine Country Tourism and is a previous treasurer of Central Coast Tourism.
He lives in the Hunter Valley and is conversant in Cantonese.
