Swiss Int"l Hotel Xiamen Launches Opening Ceremony On Apr 28

　　A grand opening ceremony was held for Swiss International Hotel Xiamen, the Swiss International Hotels & Resorts (China)’s first hotel in China, on 28th April, 2012 in the tropical seaside tourist city of Xiamen.

　　As a flagship hotel of Swiss International Hotels & Resorts, the 588-room deluxe 5-star property enjoys a prime location with easy access to business, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment hubs in Xiamen. The hotel enjoys an unrivalled view of Gulangyu Island, a tourist destination renowned for its exquisite natural beauty, ancient relics, and varied architecture.

　　The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Ulrich Hunn, Consul-General of Switzerland in Guangzhou; Mr. Don Li, Chief Executive of Swiss International Hotels & Resorts (China); Mr. Roger Mair, General Manager of Swiss International Xiamen; Mr. Huang Guobin, director-general of Xiamen Toursim Bureau, hotel guests and major media in Xiamen.

　　At 11:00 a.m., Mr. Ulrich Hunn, Mr. Roger Mair, Mr. Don Li and Mr. Huang performed the lion eye-dotting to kick off the opening ceremony. Four lion dance performers wowed the guests with their stunning performances. This type of dance is a symbol of prosperity in Chinese culture, and the performance signified a prosperous start for Swiss International Hotel Xiamen. The Lion dancers’ parading in front of the hotel spread good luck and happiness to everyone.

　　After the lion dance performance, the four guests delivered speeches and jointly performed the balloon lift-off ceremony to mark the official opening of Swiss International Hotel Xiamen.

　　A press conference was held after a buffet lunch in the Executive Lounge on the 28th floor of the hotel. Mr. Ulrich Hunn, Mr. Roger Mair and Mr. Don Li gave the press conference and answered questions from the media.

　　"Swiss International Hotels & Resorts (China) will focus on developing the image of the brand in Greater China and aim to open up to 20 hotels in the next three years, in key cities including Nanchang, Guiyang, Beijing, Shanghai and Kunming," Mr. Don Li told the press conference.

　　"Passion, Accuracy, Efficiency” are the defining characteristics of Swiss hospitality, he added. Guests of the hotel will be sure to appreciate enjoy both the classic understated surroundings and the Swiss culture of delivering value for money. In addition, a great draw is the dual reservation system, with Swizz-Rez offering a domestic and international CRS service.

　　According to Mr. Roger Mair, the Swiss International Hotel Xiamen will introduce more Swiss characteristics to the hotel in the near future, including Swiss food, music, exhibitions, coffee culture and other Swiss elements. In addition, Mr. Roger revealed that a lifestyle cafe on the 3rd floor, a steak restaurant on the 26th floor and a Hong Kong style bar & club on the 29th floor have been planned.
