香港理工大学酒店及旅游业管理学院毕业典礼暨学位授予仪式隆重举行

　　2015年10月26日星期一，香港理工大学第二十一届酒店和旅游业管理学院毕业典礼暨学位授予仪式在赛马会综艺馆隆重举行。776名毕业生出席典礼，获颁授学位与证书，并与院系领导、老师及亲朋好友分享他们的喜悦。

　　下午13点15分，酒店及旅游业管理理学硕士的74位毕业生(杭州班41人，深圳班33人)与酒店及餐饮管理文学士、酒店业管理理学士、旅游业管理高级文凭等毕业生一同，随着领队与院系领导，在庄严隆重的仪式中井然有序地步入会场。

　　13时30分，在神圣的国歌后，郭炳湘基金国际酒店服务业管理教授、香港理工大学酒店及旅游业管理学院院长及讲座教授田桂成教授宣布毕业典礼仪式正式开始。

　　酒店及旅游业管理学院副院长及讲座教授宋海岩教授致辞并介绍主礼嘉宾。他首先对酒店及旅游业管理学院在酒店旅游教育和学术研究方面所取得的成就做了简要介绍。学院的教职员工具有卓越的教育背景及丰富的实战经验，引领学员接触国际最前沿的教育及研究结果。接着，宋教授对学院的项目及毕业生情况做了汇总。在过去的几十年里，共有16000多名学生毕业于香港理工大学酒店及旅游业管理学院。目前，学院提供了博士、硕士、本科及高级文凭共17个项目。最后，宋教授代表酒店及旅游业管理学院对所有毕业生表示热烈祝贺。

　　之后，由太古酒店行政董事韦博文先生(Mr Brian Williams)致辞。韦博文先生作为职业酒店人，已在豪华酒店工作30余年，他引领太古地产有限公司在迈阿密、英国、香港和中国推出新的酒店品牌。他在致辞演讲中分享了他在酒店业多年的工作经验，使在场毕业生受益匪浅。

　　宋海岩教授随后提请田桂成教授为酒店及旅游业管理理学硕士、酒店及餐饮管理文学士、酒店业管理理学士和旅游业管理高级文凭毕业生授予学位。每位毕业生依次上台由田桂成院长一一授予学位仪式，毕业生的亲朋好友也在场分享了该神圣的时刻。

　　获2014/5年度酒店及旅游业管理学院最优秀学生奖的酒店业管理理学士侯珊珊同学和毕业生代表在毕业典礼上发表感言，对母校、教师、同学及父母表示感谢。

　　毕业典礼在师生齐唱酒店及旅游业管理学院毕业歌中圆满落下帷幕。毕业生们纷纷与现场观礼的亲友、同窗、老师合影留念，相信当天的毕业典礼将成为他们人生中最宝贵的记忆。

SHTM Congregation Address – 26 October 2015

The School of Hotel and Tourism Management is long recognized as a center of excellence in hospitality and tourism education and research. The School is ranked the second in the world among academic institutions in hospitality and tourism based on research and scholarship, according to a study published in Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research in November 2009.

We are also an innovator as well as a pioneer in designing and enhancing our teaching programmes which respond to the needs of the constantly-advancing hospitality and tourism industry. To achieve this end, we recruit academics with outstanding educational background and diverse experience to nurture our young talents. Our cutting-edge research advances the frontiers of knowledge within the industry, which helps to further enhance our teaching. We are committed to providing students with the best educational experience during their study here at the School.

Over the past decades, the School has produced over 16,000 graduates who have contributed at different levels to the hospitality and tourism industry in Hong Kong as well as around the world. At present, we offer over 17 programmes leading to academic awards ranging from Doctorate to Master’s degrees, and Bachelor’s degrees to Higher Diploma.

The annual Congregation signifies an important milestone and occasion of the School for the formal conferment of academic awards to students who have successfully completed either their study programmes or research studies. This year, we have a total of 776 graduates receiving these awards.

On behalf of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest congratulations to all the graduates, and wish them every success in their future endeavors.
