洲际首届可口可乐杯希望工程慈善美食烹饪大赛圆满落幕

　　2012年7月19日，首届洲际酒店集团(华东区)“可口可乐”杯希望工程慈善美食烹饪大赛在上海银星皇冠假日酒店完美落幕。来自洲际、皇冠假日、英迪格、假日四个品牌的酒店分别派出11支精英厨师队伍参赛。本次活动为厨师提供了交流学习、切磋厨艺的平台，而更重要的是，积极履行企业社会责任，为社会公益事业尽一份力量。

　　活动晚宴现场，洲际酒店集团大中华区高级营运副总裁周卓瓴先生代表华东区酒店向中国希望工程捐赠了61万元，将全部用于希望小学的建设。

　　“希望工程”是由中国青少年发展基金会发起和组织的大型公益项目，致力于帮助边远贫困地区的失学儿童重返校园，完成基础教育。洲际酒店集团于2007年成为中国青少年发展基金会的官方合作伙伴，截止2012年5月，旗下大中华区的酒店和集团办公室共为“希望工程同洲共际爱心基金”募集善款1600万逾元，设立了20所同洲共际希望小学和6个免费职业教育班，为加强青少年的基础教育、增强师资力量和改善教学环境而不懈努力。

　　In a continuous effort to support Project Hope, IHG East China successfully hosted its first “Cuisine for Charity” competition, title-sponsored by Coca-cola, at Crowne Plaza Shanghai on 19th July, 2012. Eleven Chef Teams from InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn branded hotels participated in the exciting competition. While it was a good opportunity for the chefs to showcase their exceptional skills and learn from each other, more importantly, the event was a great occasion to deliver IHG’s Responsible Business commitment and give back to the society.

　　During the gala dinner, Mr. Jolyon Bulley, Senior Vice President, Operations, IHG Greater China, presented the donation from the day - RMB 610,000 to China Youth Development Foundation (CYDF) to build more Hope Schools.

　　Launched and managed by CYDF, Project Hope has sought to help school dropouts in poverty-stricken areas return to school and complete at least an elementary education. IHG has been a corporate partner of CYDF since 2007. By the end of May, 2012, its hotels and corporate office in Greater China have raised over RMB16 million for Project Hope, building up 20 Hope Schools and funding six vocational classes which provide free education to young people from poor families.
